The friendly and caring team at River Road Dental strive to make your visits pain free, comfortable and successful. Our team consists of award winning dental and medical professionals and specialists who will treat you with respect, compassion and empathy. Trained at prestigious universities including Otago and UCLA faculties of dentistry, our dental team provide an extremely high standard of care with over 30 years of experience so you can be sure you're in good hands. We strive to keep current on the latest techniques and standards by taking continuing education courses and attending regular dental meetings and conferences. We are also members of professional dental associations and our dentists are actively involved in dental research.

Dr. Amir Russell is an award winning dental surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He is passionate about dentistry and is an NZDA mentor to young dentists. He has a wealth of knowledge and has given lectures both in New Zealand and abroad. He is our appearance medicine expert and enjoys performing full face make overs with botox and dermal fillers. Amir has a special interest in oral surgery including dental implant therapy and wisdom teeth removal under sedation. In his spare time he enjoys biking and spending time with his granddaughter.

Dr. Amir Russell

Dr. Assil Russell is our visiting specialist endodontist from Waikato Endodontics (expert in saving teeth with root canal treatment). She graduated top of her class from the University of Otago and has published her research thesis on endodontic surgery in internationally reknowned dental journals. Assil has a truly humanitarian heart and is founder of two medical and dental charities including Revive A Smile, which helps at-need Kiwis access dental treatment. Assil is an advocate for improving health inequalities in New Zealand and has been invited to speak in Parliament and Premier House on numerous occassions.

Dr. Assil Russell

Dr. Kruti graduated with Bachelors in Molecular and Microbiology from University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida in 2008. She further pursued her dream of becoming a dentist and completed her degree in Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University, Florida in 2013. Where ever possible, she enjoys incorporating her knowledge from both degrees into achieving holistic outcomes for her patients. After graduating, Kruti decided to move to New Zealand to join her husband. Kruti enjoys cosmetic and restorative dentistry and has special interests in Invisalign orthodontics. Kruti enjoys meeting new people and putting her patients at ease is her number one priority. When not at work, Kruti is busy being a mom to her two beautiful children, a daughter and a son. She loves spending time with her family and exploring New Zealand.

Pamela H
Pam is the newest addition to our River Road family and is a senior dental assistant and administrator. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry but particularly likes cosmetic dentistry and assisting Dr. Kruti with invisalign cases using the itero digital scanner. Pam is experienced and knowledgable and loves seeing the end result of our work and smile makeovers. She has a kind and caring nature and in her spare time enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.
Carla Erazo
Carla is our friendly senior dental assistant and administrator. Originally from Peru, Carla has a bachelors degree in dental surgery and is an extremely qualified practice nurse. She enjoys assisting Dr. Amir with all dental procedures but has a special interest in implant and oral surgery under sedation. Carla enjoys working with and learning from our dentists and specialists. Carla has a beautiful big and welcoming smile and will help make your visits as comfortable as possible. Carla is fluent in Spanish and in her spare time loves camping, exploring New Zealand and spending time with her two favourite people (husband and son).
